The Mental Health Coordinating Council (MHCC)
is the peak body for non-government organisations
(NGOs) working for mental health throughout
New South Wales (NSW). MHCC's membership includes
NGOs, both specialist and mainstream, and
other bodies interested in mental health.

MHFA ) aims to raise funds to promote: Mental

Direction of MNDAV is controlled by a State
Council of twelve members of the Association
of whom six must be people with MND, carers,
or close associates. The Association is managed
by an Executive Director and staff. Professional
staff are employed for delivery of services
to people living with MND, their families,
community workers, service providers and health
professionals. In conducting the Associations
activities and in the provision of services,
the staff are assisted by over 150 generous
and dedicated volunteers.  |

Multicultural Mental Health Australia provides
national leadership in mental health and suicide
prevention for Australians from culturally
and linguistically diverse backgrounds. MMHA
links a wide range of state and territory
mental health specialists and services, advocacy
groups and tertiary institutions to promote
the mental health and well being of Australia's
diverse communities.  |

The National Aboriginal Community Controlled
Health Organisation is the national peak Aboriginal
health body representing Aboriginal Community
Controlled Health Services throughout Australia.
An Aboriginal Medical Service is a primary
health care service initiated and operated
by the local Aboriginal community to deliver
holistic, comprehensive, and culturally appropriate
health care to the community which controls
it.  |

Child abuse is Australias most serious
social problem. 220,000 reports of child abuse
were made in 2004 a figure that has
more than doubled in five years. NAPCAN (National
Association for Prevention of Child Abuse
and Neglect) is a national non-profit organisation
and registered charity that works to prevent
child abuse and neglect from happening in
the first place. Established in 1987, NAPCAN
made history by becoming the first national
organisation to promote a united approach
to child protection and related issues.
NAPCAN produces national campaigns and distributes
free resources that promote positive and practical
actions to stop child abuse.  |

The mission of the NAC is to bring together
all forms of endeavour in the field of asthma
in order to improve the quality of life and
health outcomes of people with asthma and
their carers, reduce the social and economic
impact of asthma on the community and also
reduce the prevalence of asthma in the Australian

The Heart Foundation is an independent Australia-wide,
non-profit health organisation, funded almost
entirely by donations from Australians. The
Heart Foundation's purpose is to improve the
heart health of Australians and to reduce
disability and death from heart, stroke and

National Seniors Association Ltd. (National
Seniors) was formed in 1991 from the merger
of Mature Australia of New South Wales and
Later Years of Queensland and a further merger
with Self Funded Retirees of Western Australia.
With a membership of 280,000 and growing National
Seniors is Australia's largest organisation
representing those aged 50 years and over.
Our membership is divided between those in
the workforce, those on social security pensions
and self funded retirees.  |

The Neurosurgical Research Foundation Inc.
was formed in 1963/64 and was the first of
its kind in Australia. By providing funding
for research, the Foundation aims to promote
a greater understanding of the brain, spin
and nervous system, their diseases and effects
on them of injury, so that best possible treatment
can be given.  |

The Story of Nulsen Haven Association began
in 1954, at a time when parents of children
with severe disabilities had nowhere to turn.
People with severe disabilities were classed
as "mentally incurable", mentally
retarded or "idiots". There was
a firm belief among professionals as well
as among the general community that nothing
constructive could be done for such people
and that kind and competent custodial care
was the best possible option.  |

Sight loss is one of the most common causes
of disability in Australia, affecting one
in 60 Australians. It is estimated that almost
300,000 people across Australia are blind
or vision impaired. For Australians older
than 75, the incidence of blindness or severe
vision impairment is closer to one in six,
owing to eye conditions related to aging.
Royal Blind Society (RBS) aims to assist people
who are blind or vision impaired to maintain
independent and fulfilling lives. Every year
about 15,000 people receive services from
RBS throughout NSW, the ACT and Queensland.
